The cat in basket is a foundation paper piecing block pattern. With FPP a paper template is used as a guide for sewing the block.

I originally designed the cat in basket FPP block pattern to be part of a cat quilt that my guild made for one of our members. To make the pattern more versatile it was adapted to include multiple finished block sizes and the option to choose between right and left facing cats. Templates for right and left facing cats are supplied for 6, 8, 10 and 12" finished blocks. The block consists of 4 clearly labeled sections that are pieced together. The 1/4" seam allowance is included in the templates. There are no curved or Y-seams. The pattern contains illustrated instructions to guide you through making the block.

You will receive a 27 page PDF containing instructions for fabric cutting and block assembly, templates to create the 8 different block options, colour placement suggestions and a colouring sheet to audition colour placement options.
